Eyes (make 2):

Using baby blue felt, cut out 2 almond shapes. I did this by cutting out 2 rectangles of blue felt measuring about 1” x 3/4” then rounding off both the ends.

Repeat using the black felt, but make the black pieces about half the size of the blue ones.

Then, thread your white embroidery floss onto your needle and run a single stitch through both black felt “eggs”, tying a knot in the back. This creates the highlight of the eye. After tying, dab some fabric glue on the back of both black pieces and glue them to the blue pieces. Set them aside and allow them to dry.

Ear centers (make 2):

Take the ears that we made earlier and trace them onto your pink felt and cut them out. Then, trim them down about 1/2” all around. We want the exact same shape of the ear, but just slightly smaller. Then take the fabric glue and glue them to the center of the ears.

Tummy center:

With baby blue felt, cut a flower petal shape approx. 1 1/4” tall and 3/4” wide

Assembly (THE FUN PART!!!):

  1. Using your long tail left after creating the body, sew the top of the body to the bottom of the head.

  2. Sew on both legs. They really can go anywhere, depending on if you want him standing/sitting/etc. For mine, the legs are sewn between rows 5 and 8 of the body. Don’t forget to center the toes so they’re pointing in the right direction!

  3. Sew on the arms along both sides of the body about 2 rows down from where you connected the head and the body.

  4. Sew the nose in the center of the face.

  5. Using fabric glue, place the tummy center in, you guessed it, the center of the tummy!

  6. Using fabric glue, glue the eyes in place.

  7. Take the ears and fold them in half at the bottom and sew a whip stitch through both sides, creating a flower petal shape. Then, sew the bottom of the ears to the face. I attached mine to the head, 1 row below where the royal blue and baby blue yarn meet. Then, with a small amount of fabric glue, attach the sides of the ears to his head and pin in place until the glue is dry.

And voila! That’s it! If you have any questions at all regarding the pattern, please reach out. I usually work from my brain and am a newbie at writing down my patterns, so the directions may not be as clear as I think they are.
