This hat will fit a child from approx. 3-10 years old. Finished measurements are 21″ around and 8″ from top to bottom (excluding cherry). The size can easily be adjusted by adding or subtracting the number of increase rows and the number of total rows.

Materials needed: 1 skein each of worsted weight yarn (#4) in whatever colors you wish to use for your icing (MC) and bottom of the hat (CC) – for my MC I used I Love This Yarn in White and for my CC I used I Love This Yarn in Brown, small amount of yarn in varying colors for sprinkles, size G hook (or whatever size needed to obtain gague) for hat, size F hook for cherry and sprinkles, small amount of poly fill, tapestry needle.

Gague: 2″ = 6 rows and 8 stitches

PATTERN:

SPRINKLES (MAKE 12 IN COLORS OF YOUR CHOICE):

Using F hook, ch 4, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next ch, 5 sc in last ch, (working down the opposite side of the chain) sc in next ch, 3 sc in last ch, join with a sl st and finish off leaving a long tail for sewing.

Using a tapestry needle, sew the cherry to the very top of the hat, right onto round 1.

Sew the sprinkles randomly onto the icing and weave in ends.
